Kevin Rudd's air of leadership: Hickory dickory dock The mouse ran up the clock The clock struck one; hey where’s Rudd gone - Why ask me? said the flapping Swan - What the heck - I only sign the cheque that keeps him flying from dock to deck - What more could you ask from a man such as he - Here today - gone tomorrow - Dare I say he faces unknown sorrow.  Posted by: Rose Taylor of Melton West 4/11/08 9:23am Herald Sun Melbourne

Rudd overtakes Turnbull on economics:  I have carefully read all the digital newspapers including the ABC news and fail to find any mention of the said poll you refer to. From my observation of recent and past comments placed in the other newspapers the Rudd government is not facing the reality of the economic situation. Remember "Without a Good Economy nothing else exists"  Rose C Taylor Septemeber, 2007. Posted by: Rose Taylor of Melton West 10.41am today The Australian

Bishop in second plagiarism row:  Herald Sun October 27th, 2008:  While it is imperative that any writer should always reference their work it is doubly so when a member of parliament submits a manuscript for publication. Letting someone else take the blame shows lack of courage to admit ones own mistakes. Come on Julie either change your ways or at least change your name (Julie - Julia) what's the difference. Rudd's $10bn splurge for economy: Age October 15th, 2008: I said it all yesterday and I'll say it again to-day - Give the 'fair dinkum' aussie what he deserves and get rid of the "more please" non-genuine (take cash for their services, never paid a penny in tax in their lifetime) money grabbing 'grey nomads' and their equally 'money grabbing families'. Call me what you will but I would have preferred to have seen the genuine aged pensioner receive the much needed $30.00 per week increase. Posted by: Rose Taylor on October 15, 2008 9:07 AM

Terry McCrann 'The Pollies'  Herald Sun October 8th, 2008):  Terry, You are either black or white but don't come up with your he is a good guy to-day and a bad one to-morrow without you understand the essence of my saying back in Nov. 2007 "Without a good economy nothing else exists" Not Rudd, Not Turnbull, Not You. Rudd takes a swipe at coalition Age September 24, 2008 - 2:54PM - "We want to deliver an up to $1,200 a year benefit for working families and I am surprised that the Liberal Party would stand in the road of that in the Senate as well," Mr. Rudd said.  Please Mr. Rudd who are the working families? I'm not one nor is my son, and what of those who pay for the sins of the 'Emperor who wore no clothes' - get dressed Mr. Rudd this is the year 2008 not 1008. Swan, Bennet kick off Child Protection Week ABC 07/09/08 - http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/09/07/2357610.htm?section=justin   - National Child Protection Week has been launched in Brisbane, with organisers choosing Father's Day to highlight the role parents play in influencing and protecting their children. Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan and Broncos rugby league coach Wayne Bennet were on hand for today's proceedings. Mr Swan says child abuse is an economic, social and ethical issue. "If we want Australians to grow up and have the best possible life then young Australians need good role models," he said. I say -  How passionate is Swan?’ If we want young Australians to grow up and have the best possible life then our government should be looking at both social and ethical issues regardless of the economic cost.

"A Fair Comment" on the ALP's Kevin Dudd

Over the past 6 months I have followed the political movements of Kevin Dudd and his gofers and have never been convinced he would make the grade as an alternative Prime Minister for Australia.   After reading his speech at the ALP National Conference today I am disappointed that a man who portrays himself as "Jesus Christ Reborn" can so blatantly dishonour our current Prime Minister Mr. John Howard as a means of getting the people of Australia to believe in him.   I don't and I am certain I am not the only one who doesn't.

Rose C Taylor 27th April, 2007.

Update September, 9th 2007:   I have to agree entirely with Mr. Downer that Kevin Dudd is a PR's delight.  "Mr Downer said Mr Rudd was a good media performer, great with stunts and the best client of PR firms" (Herald Sun News - September 09, 2007 09:16am)    General Information

Update September,11th 2007:  GST and the ALP I predict that the ALP will increase the GST from 10% to up to 15% to cover Fuddy Duddy Rudd's hatred of Poker Machines.  Update: Jury still out on this one. 15/09/08.

I think the following tale also sums up the coming election.

Lamingtons on Sunday

(Or should that read "A PR's Delight")

Once upon a time, there was a place far away, yet one could say not so far away, although it once was described as the a≠se end of the world by one who thought himself above the rest of the people. However, a long time ago, or maybe not such a long time ago this individual was known to have received a kick up his own a≠se.  At about the same time, this far away place, was also described as a banana republic which today does not make sense to the people considering the price they were more recently asked to pay for just one banana.

At the present time the not so young commander of this not so far away place, sometimes referred to as “The devil in disguise”, yet unanimously acknowledged by many as a very clever and wise commander was being challenged by the not so old alternative contender commonly acknowledged as being “Holier than thou art.”

Each day, the not so old alternative contender, would send out his herd of followers to deliver to the people his current list of goodies he would be offering them if they gave him their support.  Each day the list grew larger and larger until one day those faithful to the not so young commander started to ask “Will we also be getting Lamingtons on Sundays?”

In the meantime the loyal followers of the not so young commander started to question would these very same lamingtons lose their culinary appeal by becoming very stale too quickly.  Surely, they did not want their fate to turn into another very old time tradition of being told “Let them eat cake.”

Now the moral of this story is “Could not the devil we know be far better than the one we don’t?”

Rose C Taylor (September, 11 2007).  Update September, 15th 2007: "Getting 'staler' or should that read 'scarier' by the day".  Update 16/02/09 - Yes I would have to say it is getting scarier.
